Prayer Update - November 30, 2010

Featured Church/Mission: Free Grace Presbyterian Church (profile), Lewiston, Maine (Pastor Per Almquist)
1. Rejoice with us that God continues to draw people to Free Grace. Pray that we would be faithful to live out the gospel and invite friends and neighbors.
2. Praise God for the clients coming to Jordan's Bridge. Pray that God would bring healing and comfort to them through his gospel.
3. Give thanks that God has continued to provide for us. Pray that we would continue to trust in him in all things as our finances grow tighter.
4. Pray that God would deepen our understanding of who Christ said he was as we celebrate the birth of Christ and his return by studying his "I am" statements in John.

Featured Potential Church Planting Site: Keene, New Hampshire (profile)
1. Pray for the people of Keene and for the spiritual and material prosperity of people in the western part of New Hampshire.
2. Pray for the reformation of the church in Keene and for God’s blessing upon the evangelical churches there.
3. Pray for God’s provision of a church planter to establish a new church in Keene.

Featured Potential College Ministry Site: Keene State College (profile), Keene, New Hampshire
1. Pray for the students, faculty, and staff of Keene State College during their summer break and for the school’s impact on the state through the large number of public school teachers who study there.
2. Pray for the campus ministries at Keene State, including the work of Campus Crusade for Christ.

MNA Committee work:
Burlington: Continue to pray for the committee’s work toward preparing for a joint church planting/RUF work in Burlington, VT. Pray in particular for:
1. The minister and his family who has been called to this work.
2. Ongoing efforts to connect with potential prayer and financial partners for the work in Burlington.

NNEP:
Herb Shipman: Continue to pray for adequate support to be forthcoming to support Pastor Shipman in his work as an evangelist to the dairy farming community of northern Vermont.
Mike Viera: Pray for Mike as he continues to serve with the Army reserves in Afghanistan and for his wife and children at home.

Prayer Update - November 17, 2010

Featured Church/Mission: Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian Church (profile), Portland, Maine (Pastor Doug Warren)
Please join us in praising God for these answered prayers:
1. We have several folks coming for membership.
2. God continues to meet our needs even in the midst of this difficult economy.
3. Great training for disaster relief efforts through one of our members attending a national conference.
Please continue to boldly ask God for the following:
1. Please ask for God to give us greater boldness in inviting friends, neighbors, and co-workers to services, bible studies, and into our lives.
2. Please ask for wisdom for our pastors, elders, and deacons as they finalize a revisioning process.
3. Please ask for healing as several in our congregation are recovering from significant illnesses.

Featured Potential Church Planting Site: Raymond, New Hampshire (profile)
1. Pray for the people of the growing town of Raymond and especially for the spiritual growth of the many young families in town.
2. Pray for the progress of the church in Raymond and the surrounding communities.
3. Pray that God would raise up men equipped to plant churches in the small towns of northern New England.

Featured Potential College Ministry Site: Colby College (Waterville, Maine) (profile)
1. Pray for the students, faculty, and staff of Colby College during their summer break.
2. Pray for the campus ministries at Colby, including Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and Campus Crusade for Christ. Pray for a strong evangelical witness among the student population there.
3. Pray for the encouragement of Christian students at the school and the evangelical churches in the community.

MNA Committee work:
Burlington: Continue to pray for the committee’s work toward preparing for a joint church planting/RUF work in Burlington, VT. Pray in particular for:
1. The continued prayer and financial support for this work.
2. That God would continue to grant His grace and strength to the newly called planter as he transitions to Burlington.

Other: Please pray for the committee as they begin discussing new areas for potential church planting opportunities.
NNEP:
Please pray for our three candidates under care:
1. Nathan Snyder: Pray that the Lord would continue to grant him strength as he finishes up this semester at Covenant Theological Seminary.
2. Tom Powell: Pray for Tom and his wife Becca as they continue to labor in our presbytery and as Tom finishes up classes at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
3. Mike Viera: Continue to pray for Mike as he serves in Afghanistan, and for his family, as Mike is away from them for an extended period of time.

Prayer update - November 3, 2010

Featured Church/Mission: Exeter Presbyterian Church (profile), Exeter, New Hampshire (Pastor Steve Magee)
1. Pray that we would live "quietly and peaceably together with all godliness and honesty" in our place and time in accord with 1 Timothy 2:2.
2. Pray that God would bless the marriages and family lives of the members in our congregation and throughout the church in our region.
3. Pray that the joy of the Lord would be our strength against every temptation.

Featured Potential Church Planting Site: Berlin, New Hampshire (profile)
1. Pray for the work of God’s Spirit in the north country of New Hampshire and especially in the town of Berlin.
2. Pray for good economic opportunities for the people of Berlin and the surrounding region.
3. Pray for the resources necessary for the planting of churches in the rural regions of northern New England.

1. The committee’s meeting next Wednesday (November 10), as we consider our next steps in the Burlington project and the overall church planting vision of the committee.
2. The church planting candidate as he begins the process of development for this work.

NNEP:
Herb Shipman: Pray for strong prayer and financial support for Herb’s ministry among the dairy farmers in the second half of the year. Give thanks for the spiritual fruit that God has brought about through his labors.
Mike Viera: Pray for Mike as he continues to serve with the Army reserves in Afghanistan and for his wife and children at home.
NNEP Mission’s Conference: Pray for the Mission’s Conference to be held Nov. 5-6. Pray that this might be an encouraging time for the visiting missionaries and the work of the committee.
