Prayer Update - March 24, 2010

Featured Church/Mission: Hope Presbyterian Church, Portsmouth, New Hampshire (Pastor Chris Robinson)
1. Thanks to the Lord for sending to us a real, live, pianist.
2. That the Lord would provide relief to a family facing severe business debt.
3. That He would use us as a congregation for this provision… following the early church model.
4. That He would change us to more willingly and actively invite others to worship.
5. That He would make us more willing to embrace the world’s uncertainty as His means leading us to certainty in Christ.

Featured Potential Church Planting Site: Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire
1. Pray for God’s blessing upon the people of Hanover and Lebanon, NH, and White River Junction, VT.
2. Pray for the reformation of the church in the Upper Valley region and for the Gospel witness of existing evangelical churches.

Featured Potential College Ministry Site: Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire
1. Pray for the students, faculty, and staff of Dartmouth College as the end of the school years draws near.
2. Pray for God’s blessing on the campus ministries at Dartmouth, including Campus Crusade for Christ, the Navigators, and Agape Christian Fellowship.

MNA Committee work:
Burlington: Pray for preparations for the committee’s next meeting (next Wednesday, March 31) and for further progress in moving toward a joint church planting/RUF work in Burlington, Vermont. Pray particularly for:
a. Follow-up with candidates for the two lead positions and clarity on the men God is calling to lead this project forward. We have been talking to references for one RUF candidate and are considering/interviewing several church planter candidates.
b. Presentations being made around the presbytery. Two have recently been done and others are coming up in the near term. Pray for unity throughout the presbytery in support of this effort.

NNEP:
Herb Shipman: Continue to pray for adequate support to be forthcoming to support Pastor Shipman in his work as an evangelist to the dairy farming community of northern Vermont. Give thanks for the recent newcomers to his Bible study and the evident work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of a number of those attending.
Mike Viera: Continue to pray for Mike, a candidate under care in the presbytery, during his year-long deployment to Afghanistan as a member of the Army reserves. Pray for his wife, Andrea, and three children as they deal with this time away from Mike (living in Vermont and attending Trinity Presbyterian).
